40 Hour Adult/Adolescent SANE at KU Med (e2ma.net)

According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, every 68 seconds, there is a sexual assault in the United States. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) are the ones called to emergency rooms and urgent care centers to interview, collect evidence and document the findings of these assaults.

This hybrid online/in-person adult/adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) didactic training program is geared toward the Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse planning on practicing in the role of SANE. Students must have a minimum of an RN license before beginning this course. This course meets the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) SANE Education Guidelines and provides 40 contact hours in nursing upon completion. 16 hours of online course prework to be completed before the 24 hours (three eight-hour days) of in-person lectures at KU Medical Center.
Registration Cost: April 2024 course registration fees are waived, thanks to funding from the HRSA ANE-SANE Grant and Pittsburg State University's Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing.
